Overview
Samsung Research Institute, Bangalore, collaborated with the National Institute of Design, Andhra Pradesh, for a UX design project aimed at enhancing user experience through innovative design solutions.
As a UX Designer, I led a team of four colleagues throughout the entire project lifecycle—from opportunity mapping to the final deliverables. Our focus was on Ultra Short Narratives and developing tools for editing them. This project required a seamless blend of interdisciplinary expertise to create an intuitive and efficient editing experience for Samsung users.
Learnings
Working in the Industry
This was my first project collaborating with industry professionals and product managers. It provided valuable insights into aligning design solutions with business goals and market needs. Additionally, it offered a glimpse into real-world industry dynamics. Throughout the project, my communication skills significantly improved as I regularly pitched ideas to the Samsung team and engaged in discussions with product managers.
Focus on UX
Since this collaboration involved Samsung’s proprietary UI framework, One UI, the project emphasized UX rather than UI design. Working within an established design system helped me understand how to replicate and implement well-structured UI while refining my core UX principles. This experience strengthened my ability to design within constraints while maintaining a user-centric approach.
Recognition
I was honored with a Certificate of Excellence for my contributions to the Samsung PRISM project. In recognition of my efforts and commitment, I was also awarded Amazon vouchers upon the successful completion of my PRISM worklet.
